Flower Water Toner/ Make-up Remover

Flower Water Toner/ Make-up Remover

I'm always looking for inexpensive natural alternatives for my skin care regime and I've come up with a few gems over the years. This one, I have to say is definitely one of my favourites. I simply combine equal parts Rose Flower Water and Orange Blossom Water that I buy at the grocery store or at an Indian or Persian market...if you're lucky enough to have one in your neighbourhood. They'll often sell it at a fraction of the cost because it's a common ingredient in their households both for cooking and for beauty purposes. Buying food grade flower waters ensures they are free of chemicals, my motto is if it's not safe enough to eat I don't want it on my skin either! Most commercially made toners are very expensive and are usually packed with chemicals and alcohol which can cause your skin dry out and sometimes even make your skin flake and peel.  This toner is a soft natural alternative, with some pretty impressive benefits due its naturally occurring vitamin content, and it costs me less than $8 to make enough to last me a year.

Flower waters have been used throughout history to help beautify your skin... even Cleopatra used them!  It's good for all skin types, from dry to oily and even combination skin. I don't know how it does it but it seems to just keep everything in perfect balance, likly due to its high content of vitamins A and C which are both very effective at helping to slough off dead skin cells without the use of anything abrasive which can often be too harsh on your skin. This flower water combination also has anti-inflammatory and an antiseptic properties so it's brilliant at keeping bacteria at bay which helps keep your pores clear and staves off acne break outs.

As if that wasn't enough it's also very effective at moisturizing your skin which will help it be more elastic. Any of you over 30 will recognize how important that is. How does it manage to achieve all of this in a simple flower water combination? It's because of the naturally occurring vitamins E, A and C. It will even help soothe a sunburn.

I apply it to may face with a cotton pad morning and night after washing my face. It works as a toner and helps lock in moisture which keeps your skin looking dewy and youthful. It's smells absolutely beautiful too, my husband comments on it every night when I slip into bed lol.

Another use for this little bottle of miracle water is as a make-up remover. Simply wet a cotton pad with it and your make-up will wipe off like a dream. If you have particularly difficult to remove water-proof mascara just wipe a little coconut oil over your lashes first and then use your dampened cotton pad. Removing mascara has never been easier!

I  store my flower water in a pretty little soap pump bottle and placed it on the black lacquer tray I had sitting on the back of my toilet tank. It's super convenient which means I use it regularly because I'm not always having to pull it in and out of the cupboard.

Flower Water is a beautiful thing!
